Tiling stairs

One of my more complex tiling jobs was tiling the stairs and foyers in a beautiful, modern townhouse. Removing the original slate tile was quite the labour-intensive task and cutting-off the wood stair-nosings required precision, but good preparation is where a good result starts. Then, it was a matter of carefully planning the tile layout for best flow from the garage entrance, up the first flight of stairs to the main entrance, then up another flight of stairs to the living area. To do it right, the layout would require cutting more than half the tiles, but if the emphasis had been on avoiding cuts, it just wouldn't have looked right in the end. While colour and pattern are a matter of taste, I think you'll agree that the final result was modern looking

, highly durable, and easy to keep clean.

It was a big job, one of my biggest, but don't hesitate to contact me about smaller, more straight-forward tiling projects. I'm perfectly happy to help you with a bathroom floor or shower!
